About the 3:2 Aspect Ratio
The 3:2 ratio (1.5:1) originates from 35mm film, which has a frame size of 36mm x 24mm. This ratio was carried forward into DSLR digital photography, making it the most common aspect ratio for professional photos.
Standard photo print sizes like 4x6 inches and 6x9 inches are based on the 3:2 ratio. When you shoot with a Canon, Nikon, or Sony DSLR, your photos are natively 3:2.
